Beaches in Sithonia
According to tourists, Kavourotrypes is one of the ten most interesting and clean beaches in Halkidiki. It is characterized by several kilometers of secluded rocky bays, the coast of which is dotted with snow-white fine sand.
Some consider this wild beach to be a hard-to-reach place, but regular fans appreciate Kavourotrypes precisely for the opportunity to move away from civilization and fully immerse in the peaceful atmosphere. The beach can be reached by car – traveling no more than 23 km from Vourvourou. The prize at the end of the trip will be the crystal clear waters of this heavenly place with untouched natural beauty. Another advantage of the beach is the shallow sea, which is very convenient if you are on vacation with children.

Sithonia – home to the largest ecologically clean vineyards in Europe
The land of the Halkidiki peninsula has been dotted with vineyards and olive groves for centuries. In the ancient texts are the names of the first farmers – Toroni, Acanthus and Olympus, it was they who began the development of vineyards. The wine produced today has the trade name “Slopes of Meliton”.
In 1960, Yannis Karas decided to revitalize the area, turning it into a center for wine production. After 5 years, the first vineyards were planted here at the same time as the construction of the tourist complex began.
Now on the western side of the Sithonia peninsula is Meliton, covered in lush vegetation, it reaches all the way to the clear waters of the Gulf of Toron. It is in this place in Halkidiki that the largest ecologically clean vineyards in Europe are located amphitheatrically.
And everyone can appreciate the wine produced by the Domaine Porto Carras winery.
Neos Marmaras – a tourist attraction that you must visit!
Neos Marmaras is a new town with a beautiful coastline – the place was founded in 1922 by refugees of Greek origin from Asia Minor.
Long ago, a Byzantine and ancient settlement was located on this territory, as evidenced by the remains of the walls of an ancient fortress and many other archaeological finds. The refugees who settled in this place named it Neos Marmaras (“neos” – “new”) in honor of their lost valley. Since 1960, the city has developed rapidly and become a center of international tourism. Near Neos Marmaras, in a small bay overgrown with pine forest, was built a large hotel Porto Carras. Today the city has a shopping center, cafes, restaurants, taverns, a wine cellar, vineyards, a golf course and even a diving school.
The main sights of Neos Marmaras are the courtyard of the monastery of Mount Athos Grigoriata, the mansion Karras and its famous wine center, Mount Itamos, as well as the small island of Kelifos with sheer cliffs and olive trees.
Of course, Neos Marmaras does not end the sights in Sithonia that you must visit. We can talk all day about the amazing places and tastes you can enjoy in this amazing place!
