ASPROVALTA, GREECE – The White Valley
Asprovalta is one of the main resort towns in Northern Greece and it is no coincidence that it is considered one of the best summer destinations by tourists due to its amazing combination of natural resources. Asprovalta has a very long and wide coastline, and the beach is very well organized and almost merged with that of Nea Vrasna, due to the proximity of the smaller resort. The beach is sandy, but in places it is mixed with small pebbles and becomes relatively deep as soon as you enter from the shore, which makes it not very suitable for small children. Along the beach there are many restaurants that offer umbrellas and sunbeds for consumption. There is of course a free area, volleyball courts, and to the delight of the youngest there are several playgrounds too.
Along the beach is the main shopping street, where are situated many cafes, bakeries, taverns, various restaurants and shops, and the prices are quite reasonable.
In the evenings you can relax with a wonderful walk along the promenade and imperceptibly reach Nea Vrasna, as there is no empty section between the two resorts and the distance is only about 10 minutes. It is definitely worth trying the traditional Greek dishes and fresh fish offered in local restaurants. Asprovalta also has a park where you can enjoy the feeling of space and tranquility, as it is located between the beach and restaurants.
