Nea Iraklitsa Resort is located near the beach, 14 km from Kavala and 3 km from Nea Peramos. The population is about 1000 people. It was originally a fishing village. It has grown rapidly over the years and has become a great resort, mainly because of its incredible beaches. The beach of Nea Iraklitsa is about 2 km long and sandy with crystal blue water. It has the Blue Flag award. Umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach are free in case of consumption.
There are a number of small coves in the area, some of them almost deserted.
Agia Marina Beach is located in a small bay in the west. The water is crystal clear and quite shallow, but you must be careful for sea urchins near the rocks. There is also a Ramsey Eatery.
Shortly after Agia Marina, in another bay is the Psata Beach, which has a beach bar.
The center in Nea Iraklitsa is large and has plenty of available shops, pubs, cafes and bakeries. At the port you can even fish or rent a trip boat. The resort is quite popular with its dessert – lakumades – donuts with chocolate or honey. For its youngest visitors, Nea Iraklitsa provides two large children’s playgrounds and an ice cream parlor, too.
In restaurants and taverns you can enjoy the fresh seafood, especially – octopus, squid, sea bream and many more.
